The story
The Molly Brown House is the restored Denver, Colorado home of Margaret Brown, the social reformer, activist and Titanic survivor popularly remembered as the 'Unsinkable Molly Brown'. Built of stone and brick in the 1880s and lived in by the Browns around the turn of the century, it was saved from demolition in the 1970s and operates today as a house museum preserving the family's belongings and richly detailed Victorian interiors. Its haunted reputation is comparatively modest, including reports of the scent of pipe or cigar smoke associated with Margaret's husband, J.J. Brown, a figure sometimes glimpsed at the windows or on the stairs, curtains and objects shifting, and staff and visitors occasionally describing a watchful or uneasy presence.
