The story
Hotel Boulderado opened on New Year's Day 1909 in downtown Boulder, Colorado, a block from what is now the Pearl Street Mall, its name a blend of 'Boulder' and 'Colorado' so guests would never forget where they had stayed; it is celebrated for its stained-glass lobby ceiling, its cherry-wood cantilevered staircase and an original 1908 Otis elevator still in service, and it is a member of Historic Hotels of America.
