Haunted Pubs & Inns

Gadsby's Tavern

Alexandria, VA

A 1785 tavern and 1792 hotel in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, where Washington and Jefferson dined — now a museum and working restaurant. Gadsby's is famous for the 'Female Stranger', a young woman who died in Room 8 in 1816 and whose unnamed grave feeds two centuries of telling.
