Greenbanks Hollow Covered Bridge

Danville, VT

Greenbanks Hollow Covered Bridge crosses Joe's Brook in Danville, Vermont, where a woolen-mill village burned in 1885 and never returned — the cellar holes of the lost hamlet still ring the little span. Hollow telling gives the old bridge lantern light within, footsteps on its boards at dusk and mill sounds from the empty banks.
