The story

Charleston's 350-year history includes colonial settlement, revolution, slavery, earthquake and epidemic, and the city's graveyard network holds the remains of more than 80,000 people. Tours departing from White Point Garden pass the Provost Dungeon beneath the Old Exchange Building, where prisoners were held during the Revolutionary War, and the Unitarian Church graveyard on Archdale Street, overgrown and officially closed since the 1980s. The Provost Dungeon's lowest level is described by multiple investigators as among the most energetically charged spaces in the American South.
