The story
This 1843 carriage house behind the antebellum Dudley Mansion sits on Charleston's Battery, one of the oldest and most fortified areas of the city. Guests in Room 10 report a male apparition in period clothing who sits at the foot of the bed, and Room 3 is associated with a headless torso apparition that has resisted every attempted explanation. The inn is a fixture on Charleston ghost tour itineraries and openly embraces its reputation as one of the South's most active small hotels.
