Historic Haunted Buildings

Liberty Memorial Building

Bismarck, ND

The Liberty Memorial Building on North Dakota's capitol grounds in Bismarck was built in 1924 to honour the state's war dead and long housed its library and archives. Generations of staff told of 'the Stack Monster' — footsteps, whistling and shifting books in the old stacks.
