The story

Boulder Hot Springs Inn stands where thermal waters break the surface in the Deerlodge foothills south of Boulder, Montana, a resort since the 1860s whose present landmark building rose from 1888 onward in grand Spanish-mission style, with bathhouses and plunge pools fed by the springs; miners, senators and travellers took its waters through Montana's boom decades, and the inn continues today with soaking pools and simple rooms, parts of its vast fabric restored and parts awaiting it. Its ghost lore is led by 'Simone', described in the inn's own telling as a woman in 1930s dress associated with the hotel's rowdier era, glimpsed in the east wing and corridors; guests and staff also describe footsteps, doors, voices in the bathhouse wings, and a sense of company in empty hallways, with the inn hosting the occasional investigation and telling the stories warmly. Identifications are folklore. These accounts should be presented as inn and guest telling at a historic springs resort, hedged and fond. Current room, pool and access details should be confirmed from the official site before publishing.
