The story

The Cuban Club, or Circulo Cubano de Tampa, was built in 1917 in the historic Ybor City district of Tampa, Florida, after an earlier clubhouse burned, and served as a mutual-aid social club for the area's Cuban immigrant cigar-working community, with a theatre, ballroom, cantina and library. Still standing as a designated landmark and now used as an event venue, it has a notable haunted reputation in local lore. Stories include an actor said to have died on or near its stage, a club member said to have shot himself in the building, and a child sometimes associated with the upper floors, with visitors and event-goers reporting figures, footsteps, disembodied voices and lights and the old elevator behaving oddly, especially around the theatre. These accounts should be presented as folklore and visitor reports rather than documented fact, and the more dramatic claims treated cautiously. Current access, events and any tour arrangements should be confirmed before publishing.
