Hay–Adams Hotel

Washington, DC

The Hay–Adams, Washington's grand hotel on Lafayette Square opposite the White House, rose in 1928 on the site of the joined homes of John Hay and Henry Adams. Its gentle, famous lore concerns Clover Adams, who died in the house that stood here in 1885, and the fourth floor's telling.
