The story
Hotel Colorado opened in 1893 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, an Italianate resort built beside the town's famous hot springs and modelled in part on a villa in Italy; in its heyday it hosted notable guests including Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and William Howard Taft. Its haunted reputation features several recurring figures in local lore, among them a chambermaid said to have been killed there, a young girl sometimes reported in the corridors, and a former bellboy, along with the lingering scent of perfume and cigar smoke where no source can be found. Guests and staff describe lights and the elevators behaving oddly, knocking, items moving and fleeting figures glimpsed in mirrors and doorways.
