The story

Built by Sarah Winchester between 1884 and 1922, this sprawling Victorian mansion contains 160 rooms, stairways to nowhere and doors that open onto walls. Winchester reportedly consulted a medium who told her she must keep building to appease the spirits of those killed by Winchester rifles. Staff and visitors report unexplained footsteps, cold spots in the basement seance room and glimpses of a small woman in Victorian dress.
